Brett K. Bersano, PsyD, specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety disorders and depression. Dr. Bersano treats patients with behavioral disorders, attention deficit, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. He has expertise in child and adolescent psychotherapy, behavior management, and psychological assessment. Dr. Bersano also has extensive experience working with the deaf and hard of hearing utilizing sign language.
Before joining Life InSight, he was a practicing school psychologist for more than a decade and has had positions with the NJ Department of Education, Franklin Lakes Public Schools, Cumberland County Public Schools, and Montgomery County Public Schools located in NJ, NC, and MD, respectively. Dr. Bersano has provided supervision for graduate students learning psychoeducational assessment skills at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey and Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. Additionally, he has volunteered providing Critical Incident Stress Debriefings and critical incident stress management to first responders as a member of the Phoenix Team.
Dr. Bersano is a member of the New Jersey Psychological Association, American Psychological Association, Northeast Counties Association of Psychologists, and the National Association of School Psychologists. He is also a Board Member of the Northeast Counties Association of Psychologists.
When he is not working with patients, Dr. Bersano enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering as an EMT, reading, hiking, and exploring the outdoors.
