Dr. Rebecca Yun is a licensed clinical psychologist and certified school psychologist in New York and New Jersey. She specializes in the treatment and diagnostic evaluation of individuals aged 2 and older. As a mother to a child with developmental delay, she appreciates first-hand the many joys and challenges that each family can experience when raising a child with special needs. Through positive framing and honest discussion, Dr. Yun strives to work closely with each person and/or their families to strengthen areas of concern. In addition, she offers school consultations to help develop comprehension plans to better ensure a child's academic and socio-emotional success.
Dr. Yun began her studies at Brandeis University and obtained a B.A. in Psychology and Latin. After working for several years as a substance abuse counselor in San Francisco, Dr. Yun obtained her Ph.D. in clinical psychology and certification in school psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She completed her internship at Maimonides Medical Center and her post-doctoral fellowship with the Jewish Board Family and Children Services working in both the Learning Center and the Child Development Center. During her doctoral studies, Dr. Yun has also trained in prominent New York hospitals including Beth Israel Medical Center and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. In addition, she conducted research and completed her dissertation with Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research.
At present, Dr. Yun works as a consulting psychologist at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s (FDU) Center for Psychological Services. Her duties include conducting neuropsychological assessments and supervising doctoral students administering, interpreting, and writing up psychological evaluations for individuals suspected of ADHD, learning problems, or emotional and personality difficulties. Moreover, Dr. Yun has provided several seminars and workshops on child development as well as test administration. She has also periodically returned to FDU as an adjunct instructor teaching graduate level courses in personality theories as well as undergraduate courses in health and general psychology.
Dr. Yun balances her busy career by spending time with her family, taking in life’s simple pleasures such as long walks with her children or a trip to the central park zoo. She is an active participant in her children's schools and has helped organize several fundraisers. For the past several years, she helped spearhead a drive to raise funds for foster children transitioning to independence.

Dr. Yun has held extensive experience working with individuals and their families struggling with a range of difficulty, including symptoms related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral regulation, or autism. She also offers comprehensive psychological, psycho-educational, and neuropsychological evaluations, which provide insight into an individual's cognitive, academic, emotional, as well as interpersonal functioning. Assessments can be used for diagnostic clarity, school placement, accommodations for standardized testing, or to guide treatment. Dr. Yun maintains specific training in working with and diagnosing individuals on the autism spectrum.
