Background Dr. Matthew Zuch is the co-founder of Life Insight and a licensed clinical psychologist in New York and New Jersey. Dr. Zuch has extensive experience successfully treating individuals and their families struggling with OCD, specific phobias, school refusal behavior, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral dysregulation. Dr. Zuch was a member of The NYU Child Study Center where he served as the Clinical Director of the NJ Campus, as an Associate Research Scientist, and as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU Langone Medical Center. Dr. Zuch was also a co-developer and long-time Director of the Social Skills Groups at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was also an Adjunct Professor at the School of Psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Dr. Zuch has lectured extensively on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Parenting Techniques, Social Skills, Oppositional Behaviors, ADHD, Anxiety, OCD, and Depression in Adults and Children.
Education & Training Dr. Zuch graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance. He did his graduate work in Trumpet Performance at the Yale Graduate School of Music and obtained his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Dr. Zuch has had four years of specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral treatment of anxiety disorders at North Shore – LIJ Hospital’s Anxiety and Stress Treatment Center. Additionally, he has trained at Westchester Jewish Community Services, North Shore/LIJ Hospital, and NYU Langone Medical Center.
About Me Dr. Zuch enjoys being with his family and spending as much time as possible near or on the water. Dr. Zuch has performed as a trumpet soloist and orchestral musician throughout the U.S. and internationally. He was a long-time member of the Philharmonia Virtuosi Orchestra in residence at Town Hall in New York. Dr. Zuch draws from both personal and professional experiences in his work. He holds unique insight into the emotional and educational challenges that are a part of raising a child who struggles with significant mental health challenges.
