Background Christina Gallin is a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey. She has extensive experience working with at-risk adolescents, drawn from her internship in Sussex County as well as in a Psychiatric Community Home in Jersey City. In addition to individual and family therapy, Christina facilitates weekly groups on topics such as: utilizing DBT strategies to manage symptoms, mindfulness, and enhancing self-esteem. She has also worked with children (age 5+), adults, and families in an outpatient facility providing individual therapy and family services. Prior, she has trained with homeless populations in Brooklyn NY, helping them get documentation and assistance to meet their everyday living needs. Christina additionally demonstrates a passion for working with youth and has been gaining hours toward her school counseling certification within an elementary school setting. There, she co-facilitates groups on grief and loss as well as programs enhancing growth mindset. She also works closely with the school counselors/staff to aid in issues pertaining to bullying, emotional dysregulation, and mental health challenges. Christina has developed the skills to help individuals who are struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar, PTSD, personality disorders as well as concerns about Body Image.
Education & Training Christina graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a B.A. in Psychology. There, she maintained a concentration on Counseling and obtained her Masters's Degree in Clinical Counseling from Centenary University. Christina has been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is currently obtaining her School Counseling Certification from New Jersey City University.
About Me Christina enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, friends, family, and 2 cats (Sasha & Blue). Moreover, she can certainly appreciate the quiet that comes along with camping while embracing the bustle of New York City. After a long day, she enjoys playing board games or sports as well as losing herself in a good book. She participates in a monthly book club with two close friends.
